"Strung along by Lowes Installation Services for 4 weeks"
So far the quality of the Stainmaster Ready to Play III carpet seems fine (it's only been 1 month so it's too soon to tell how it will wear over time). My issue is with Lowes Installation Services and their unwillingness to address issues caused by their over-scheduled and ill-prepared sub-contractors. The guys who came to my home didn't bring basic materials - like dropcloths - to protect the new carpet from getting soiled while they rolled it out and cut it directly on my dirt and gravel driveway in the woods. I took pictures and documented all the debris that was stuck to the underside of the new carpet - including burrs, stickers and pine needles - but to no avail. I had to call Lowes Installation services no fewer than 7 times over the span of 4 weeks to find out what, if anything, they were willing to do to address the situation. I finally spoke to a manager who vaguely offered financial compensation, but then he proceeded to dodge me and avoid taking my calls for the next 2 weeks. They NEVER once attempted to contact me with a status update on my issue. The reps are nice, but totally powerless to make decisions, and the managers are too busy to get back to you. Finally today when I reached someone with authority they offered me an ultimatum - accept a $250 gift card on my $5500 purchase or go away. Dreadful customer service! Spare yourself the hassle and do not purchase carpeting through Lowes. Go with a reputable local outfit that vets and employs installers in-house if you expect quality.

"Don't trust Lowes installers"
We purchased our carpet and pad through Lowes in 2018 and trusted them for installation. Bad Idea! After only 3 years our carpet has sagged and come unattached from the tack strip not in a couple of spots but every room, hallway, and stairs. We had a quote to have it restretched but the installer said it would hold because of the way the tack strip was installed. A lot of money for bad quality and installation. Lowes will not do anything and the installer is no longer in business!

"Very professional and helpful"
The carpet installers worked incredibly hard for two days replacing our carpet. They were very professional and helpful. It is a lot of work to move all the furniture in a two story house. Thank you Lowes.

"Padding is cheap"
Ordered carpet, paid cash and order was never processed for two weeks. Top rated padding had hard particles which I could feel when I walked on it an so declined that padgg doing. Cooperate said they would give me an ungrade padding but was actually a very cheap foam padding inferior to the original one with hard sharp particles in it.They would not offer compensation for the lower grade padding. They do not like to handle problems and push their problems to the installers who are subcontractors. It's been a bad...experience. READ THE REVIEWS FIRST before purchasing carpet and padding.

"End result was good"
Originally I did have some issues with ordering, scheduling and final pricing. After talking to two managers at two different times it was re-solved in the end to my satisfaction.

"Boycott Lowes"
Paid over $3,600 in advance (mandatory) for carpet and padding in four rooms. Noticed a line in the carpet and called Lowes to report it. Got the run around for months. Lowes initially tried to blame their installer. After about 20 phone calls over several months, they admitted that it was a manufacturing defect and said they would replace it. Got the run around for two or three more months, then they just hung up on us. Called the store's customer service department and asked for a manager. Got an assistant manager who also hung up. Called corporate customer service and they contacted the store manager, who admitted the carpet was no longer available. He offered a discount/refund that wouldn't even cover the price of a rug to hide the defect, let alone replace the carpet in that room. I will never spend another penny at Lowes. DO NOT buy flooring from Lowes. You will regret it.

"Poor installation"
Our Lowes carpet was poorly installed. They had a one year warranty, but my install problem showed up shortly after and they refused to do anything to back up their product. The local store was absolutely no help; they only gave me a phone to call which ultimately did nothing. They stung me along for about three months before they told me they would not back their product. I suggest going to a small local carpet store and stay away from the big box stores like Lowes. Totally disappointed.

"Avoid Lowe's for carpet installation!"
The only acceptable part of this whole nightmare with our new bedroom carpet was the salesman in the store. The guy who came out to bid it was rude; the 2 guys who installed did not put the seam in the right place and when you walk on it it makes crunching tape sounds. The bid guy came back to check out the problem and said it was our responsibility to inform the guys where the seam went!! He said he would get back to us on the repair to fix the noise. Then today, unannounced, another guy showed up to take pictures of it (not to fix it). Who knows what's next? I almost wish we wouldn't have called them to fix it. Never hire this company! I used Bob's Carpet before and everything went perfectly.

"Bad Installation"
After a fire we had to replace 3 floors of carpet in our townhouse. First, I purchased all my appliances from Lowes. At the same time I purchased the carpeting and pergo for the kitchen. In total the carpet and padding and pergo was a little over 10,000. I just needed to get it done so we got everything there. We were in temporary housing and needed to finish as fast as possible. The house was completely empty so there was no furniture and installation should have been a breeze. Well it's 3 years later and the carpet looks like waves everywhere. Lowes won't help regardless of the tens of thousands I dropped there. I've had carpet installers look at it and they don't even want to attempt it because it's just loose all over the place. Beware of Lowes.
