"Stay Away From Mirage"
In July 2017, I had Mirage, Havana Maple engineered wood flooring installed. The installer laid boards that were dented, gouged, and scratched. Within days, I noticed scratches throughout my condo. I immediately contacted the contractor who agreed that there was a serious problem and one that he had never seen before. He surmised that the wood was not cured properly. Seven months later, the floors are scratched and dented. I am waiting for Mirage to refund my $15 K or replace the floors. This has been a nightmare Do Not Buy This Product.

"Gouges and Scratches"
This is a terrible oak flooring. I live in a 60 year old house with all oak flooring on the first floor with high traffic areas. This oak was cut at a local lumber yard and was finished after being installed in the home with 3 coats of finish. The floors are fabulous and have not a single gouge in them. Extremely durable flooring. I decided to bring in oak flooring on the second floor and started with 1 bedroom using Mirage prefinished oak flooring. What a mistake. After only 6 months the floors looked terrible and had gouges all over it. These indentations look terrible. It is a much inferior product than standard oak milled at a local lumber yard. These floors have much less traffic than the first floor. I would stay away from Mirage.

"Creaks and cracks"
This is a response to Ally / Lisa G / beachgirl comments. There are too many comments which make me laugh. I can only pick the recent ones to comment. Ally said the floor creaks and cracks with every step. Come on, creaks and cracks problem is caused by installation, not what brand you install. To install the floor with another brand but by the same installer will not solve the problem. Re comments from Lisa G. She gave 1 star but mentioned in her comments that "I was ready to purchase Mirage floors by Boa Franc". Come on, if Lisa said she was ready to purchase, it is obvious that she has not yet installed any Mirage in her place. If so, how can Lisa grade a product with 1 star when she has zero experience with this product?! Re comments from beachgirl. She said she has installed the floor for about 3 months when she noticed scratches everywhere. I don't know how she got so many scratches. Most probably she has pet at home and choose smooth surface. Sometimes I just feel amazed seeing people complaining about scratches. Come on. Does Mirage say their floor is scratch-free? No! Who tell you Mirage will not scratch? If you have pet at home, please install tile. If you drag things around often , please install tile. Wood floor is not for someone who can leave scratches everywhere in 3 months, no matter what brand it is! To my understanding, this forum is supposed to have customers sharing their experience. If you have no experience with the product, what make you feel you can comment. Moreover, don't expect any wood flooring brand can be scratch free. Also if your floor has noise, don't blame the brand. Go to check with the installer. If you yourself is the installer, I can only say you'd better pay someone to do the job next time. Note: If someone who have never installed Mirage can leave 1 star, I should leave 5 stars to Mirage. Though my experience with this brand is too long, at least I have some experience!

"Huge fan"
I have read with amusement and frustration the comments on this web site regarding Mirage Hardwood Floors. I am a veteran of 30 plus years in the flooring industry. I have spent the majority of that time as a sales manager / sales person. I actually started before prefinished hardwood floors were introduced in the retail/builder side of the business. What I see here is Mirage (Boa-Franc) being blamed for what I perceive to be a problem on the retail and builder sales person end of this business. Full disclosure, I am a huge fan of the product that Mirage manufacturers. Remember that what we are talking about is a product of nature, it is wood. I have actually been to the mill twice and witnessed what they do. I have also been to several other manufacturers of wood and other floor covering. I can state from personal experience that there is no finer run company than Boa-Franc / Mirage. Mirage wins awards because of what they do and how they do it but the bottom line is that the surface is still hardwood. All hardwood will dent and scratch. If your sales person told you other wise or lead you to believe that you could raise children and have pets on a closed grain, smooth hardwood like maple or yellow birch and not have scratches and dents than you were helped by a clueless, or worse yet, unethical sales person. I remember an instance when I called the local Mirage factory representative regarding this exact same situation. His first and unhesitant answer when I asked him what product of his he would recommend for a family with kids and dogs was "porcelain tile." He continued on to say that if the customer insisted on hardwood they should use an open grain product with visual texture because all wood will dent and scratch under those conditions. I have seen the raw material that Mirage puts into their product. I have seen their quality control. I have replaced 7 year old product and had the milling match perfectly. I have been told of product that was purchased at Habitat For Humanity and when more product from the mill was added to it you couldn't tell the difference. That is absolutely unheard of for ANY type of floor covering. Bottom line is they do it correctly almost each time every time. If you have expectations above what the product category is unable to deliver than don't blame the manufacturer.

"Pet owner"
This is a response to Mike D comment. I saw the photos posted by you. Your floor is smooth surface floor. I just don't quite understand why you choose this type of floor when you have dog in your house. Don't you think that your dog's paws are for decoration only? Don't you know that dog's paws will cause scratches? If I were you, I won't blame Mirage. I will just blame myself being so naive to choose a smooth surface floor with a dog in the house. Unless you tell me the retailers are being bribed to vote for Mirage, otherwise, I don't know why I should not trust the retailer's choice! The retailers deal with hundreds of customers every year. They know what brands make a happy customer! They know what brands cause headache to customers. They are the best person to tell what brand is the best!

"Disappointed"
This is terrible flooring, don't buy it, I put 20k down the drain. It creaks and cracks with every step. The humidify here is perfect and the floors are laid perfectly flat. All the experts can say what they want I will take other flooring I've had in the past any day. I will eventually one day put a nail through every board on my floor.

"Award winning reviews comment"
George of California. You make a fair and valid point. Candidly, my reason for buying Mirage was based on these awards and their reputation. However, I was misled. I encourage you to go to the Mirage Facebook page. Click on "Photos" and then click on photos posted by other people. I have a handful of pictures of my floors posted. I have many more... You be the judge. I expected Mirage to stand up to their reputation. At least offer to replace the floors with a product that will hold up at cost or a discount or something. Why would a company that stands on its reputation allow this to happen? My hope is that consumers simply consider my pictures as they are considering this company and their "awards". No lies in these pictures.

"Awards by industry tell more than comments"
If Mirage is so bad as mentioned in this website, how likely the brand can win so many awards in the past decade esp some awards are voted by the retailers. If Mirage is so bad, compliant will be flooding in to retailers. Will they vote for a brand causing them tons of trouble? Good/bad comments can be fake. Awards are more reliable than comments from people you just don't know if they are lying or not.

"Take action"
I was ready to purchase Mirage floors by Boa Franc. I am so glad I saw these posts first. Honestly, I stumbled upon them by accident. I don't know that other consumers will find this so I suggest that everyone band together and post details (experiences, pictures, videos, etc.) on every social media outlet possible. It can be very powerful. There is even a pictures link on Mirage's Facebook page with some pictures. I especially liked the pictures of damaged floors. Wow!

"Scratches/Dents/Dings from day 1"
I agree with both Beach Girl and Jean Brags. These floors are terrible. I purchased Mirage floors based on a supposedly top of the line and well respected company. Before purchasing I even corresponded with their customer service to ensure I got the best floors for the money as I have kids and dogs. I have always had hardwoods and these are the worst I ever purchased. I had deep scratches from day 1. I have now had the floors for a little over 2 years and have to replace them. Over $15k investment. Mirage told me that I was too particular and I was the only one that would notice. I have pictures and video if anyone wants to see the result.
