"This floor is garbage"
In purchased Home Legend Maple Salinas flooring through Home Depot. I purchased as it has a 50 year residential warranty. I had flooring professionally installed in my kitchen in approx November of 2012. The floor never appeared to be clean. After contacting the manufacturer I was given ridiculous cleaning instructions which included using rubbing alcohol and water, denatured alcohol with water. Neither worked. Floor has a constant film on it and looks terrible. On top of it, the edges are raised in numerous areas and chipping is present in areas with little to no foot traffic. It looks terrible. The flooring in my living room is 8 years old and it looks far better than my Home Legend flooring which is less than a year old. I have contacted Home legend who after much complaining by me sent an inspector to look at it. Once again Home Legend accepts no responsibility for a sub par product. I will be removing this poor quality floor and never purchase another Home Legend Product. They may as well have a no warranty policy because their warranty covers nothing. Do not purchase this poorly made flooring.

"Disappointed"
We are extremely disappointed with this hard wood. We were told that it's one of the toughest floors you can buy. It came with some defects on it's own, but if something moves on it there are scratches. I'm satisfied with the color but not how easy it scratches. We had two rooms done with this flooring and were thinking of doing our living room with it. But I think I will go in another direction. The price was very good but the floor is not. Thank You, Kay Peters.

"3-1/2"clk-hs gunstock oak 20.71sf"
Had engineered wood floor installed by a lic. 30 yr. Exp. Prof. Flooring expert in 2010. Sent a letter to your office explaining problem with floor with no response from Home Legend. Then talked with Home Depot where I bought flooring, who advised me that you would probably would deny claim under the heading of "installed wrong". Sure enough, that what you did and without even addressing part of the claim concerning wood fading {installation?} This being a floating floor that a junior high school kid could install by the way. After 3 prof. People look at this floor, they all say that in no way would sliding wood together cause edges to curl. This company is one of the worse I've ever come in contact with in over 40 yrs-very bad pr. Home Depot ought to kick you people out totally.

"Bamboo interlocking"
My husband and I purchased home legend from Home Depot for our entire home. 1 month after installation there is chipping in 2 rooms and various scratches to the finish. Mind you, we do not have pets or heavy traffic. I warn any one considering this product due to its warranty (50 year residential). Reconsider it! We are left with $ 7,800 destroyed wood floors. The floor literally scratches from passing a vacuum over it. I certainly believe anything else would have been better. Unfortunately there is no area to post pictures here. They are pretty impressive.

"Poor quality finish"
The finish on the strand woven sapelli bamboo flooring is awful. We bought the dark finish; being told by the salesperson that it had a very hard finish. It scratches so easy and the stain/coating is so thin that the natural color underneath shows everywhere. Dealing with Stacie @ "customer service" was unpleasant and based on that conversation we feel will be unsuccessful in coming to a resolution.

"DO NOT PURCHASE!!!"
High Gloss Oak Gunstock 3/8 in. Thick x 4-3/4 in. Wide x Random Length Click Lock Hardwood Flooring (24.94 sq.ft./case)Apparently, the manufacturer Home Legend, does back up their 55 year warranty for defective products. Actually, I?ve had this product for less than a year and noticed little dents throughout it where I have walked. The only thing I can figure is my heals have caused this. I am 105 pounds. No wood floor should do this. I've had three contractors look at it and agree this should never have happened and should absolutely be covered under warranty! What hardwood floor does this? Apparently Home Legend?s. I was told by Home Depot I have to contact Home Legend. Home Legend sent me back to Home Depot to open a claim since they do not deal with the public. That?s fine. I explain to the second Home Depot representative and he opens a claim and lets me know a representative will be calling me to come review my claim to submit pictures to Home Legend. This takes place and I follow up with Home Depot to see what the next steps are. To my shock, I am told the claim was declined. I then get a story well I have to wait for Home Legend to send me a letter with the details as to why it was declined. I have no contact with them why aren?t they sending it to both Home Depot as well since I am required to go through you Home Depot. After two hours of being shuffled around. I get to another person that asks me what I want. I want my floor to be repaired, replaced or refunded for the products purchased and installation cost. I hear from Home Depot ?well Home Legend denied the claim.? I?ve had 3 contractors look at this floor and verify this should never happened it has to be defective. They are now making a claim with their insurance company Secgwick and can?t tell me anything but we have nothing to do with it now you have to deal with Secgwick and we can?t tell you one thing about how it will work at all. Really I spend over $3,000 on a new floor that is defective and this is the customer service I receive Home Depot. This is outrageous!!! You are selling a defective product and providing customer service at all. I will never purchase a thing at Home Depot and certainly not purchase a Home Legend product. Lowe?s, I look forward to being a frequent/loyal customer!

Review:
"Hand Scraped Hickory Tuscany - ClickLock. GREAT!!!"
Contrary to some of the other reviews, our experience with the Handscraped Hickory Tuscany by Home Legend has been flawless. We purchased the flooring AND installation from Home Depot. The flooring arrived at the local store in a week. I picked it up and took it home. It sat for 5 days; then the installers showed up. They leveled the floor (we laid it over slab at ground level) and although the floors were only slightly out of spec it took 8 bags of cement to make a 250 sq ft area level. It dried in 2 hrs. They put down the underlayment (pink plastic with white styrofoam pellets and left. The next day they installed the floor over the underlayment. No issues whatsoever. The floor looks beautiful; I've already dropped all sorts of stuff on it with hardly a dent or scratch (I did have to move all the furniture back in!). It feels great to walk on, doesn't make ANY noise at all. The installers commented on how nice it looked; in fact, one of them actually cut out the name from the box so he'd remember which style it was. I got 14 boxes of the stuff; not a single board was defective. My only complaint is that the moldings used to trim out the install only come in 78" lengths. I could have used a 96" T-bar; instead there is a (hardly noticeable) seam in the T-bar where the two pieces butt up against each other. I'm quite satisified so far; call me back in 10 years and I'll tell you how well it lasted!

Review:
"Click and float good description"
We ordered around 1500 square feet of Home Legend Tuscan Hickory from our local Home Depot. Our floors were leveled to within 1/16 of an inch at extra $1100.00 expense. This is critical to install because without this step all issues of this defective floor will be blamed on the installation. Take pictures with level on leveled concrete before floor is laid to prove noise not due to unleveled or improperly installed floors. The floor was acclimated for over a week before install and I hired an independent certified floor expert that happened to be from the group Home Depot contracts with for floor inspections to do the concrete moisture test because measure comp came out twice and failed to measure it according to manufactures guidelines. The first batch was defective and made clicking, and cracking noise after first half of room was installed. Was so bad floor installers stopped install. Home Depot store manager came to my house and ordered install to continue despite the fact the boards were warped and had damage as described by everyone else. I called the manufacture to obtain spec for defect. Only after home legend gave guidelines was install stopped for installers to check boxes for defects. Almost all was defective. Reordered- same results. Home legend agreed to keep warranty of floor and pay for additional expenses to have the click and float glue down installation after independent inspector stated this would be acceptable. Home Depot customer service manager over 150 stores was brought in and agreed to have the floor inspected after one room was laid as click in float creaked, clicked and clacked despite all install guidelines having been met or exceeded. It took 3 months to get our floors installed two months of which including Christmas and New Year's was living on leveled concrete without any furniture. It was a horrific experience. Good news- floor after glue down install is beautiful and has held up well after one year to life with 10 and 5 year old plus all thier play dates. Summary: if you have the skill to glue this down yourself or are willing to pay someone to glue it down, skip the click and pay the little extra for the 1/2 inch. The finish is the same but the 1/2 inch is a much better product for .50 or less a sq. Ft. Don't buy it if you aren't prepared to glue it down. Never pay Home Depot to install or any company that subcontracts the work out bc you will end up in a triangle where no one takes responsibility. Hire highly credentialed floor inspector to test moisture content and advise on install process. Will cost you $150 but worth it for the investment you making in floors.

"Poor batch"
I purchased over 500 square feet of the Home Legend flooring. I attempted installing two rows, which took me almost an hour, because the planks would not connect properly. I would connect one piece, and another section would come apart. The interlock system was defective. I brought an unopened package back to Home Depot and asked the flooring expert to connect a few sections. He struggled connecting them too, and informed me that I received a defective batch. Home Depot reordered another 500 square feet from the vendor, and I specified that I would not accept the order if it was from the same production batch. When I went to pick up the new special order, I discovered it was from the same batch, so I refused to accept the order, canceled my order, and decided to go with another brand. This issue caused a four week delay in my remodeling project. I am never going with the Home Legend brand again, because there is no quality control.

"Home Legend bamboo walnut"
Hard to say anything but crap. Wouldn't put this in a doghouse let alone my own house. Home legend is and has always been low quality floor. A friend of mine ordered 120 sq ft of their bamboo , actually installation was a breeze but his wife wanted to add a hallway and some closets. He ordered enough to just do his master bath. We installed the bath and ordered the exact same floor to continue into the hall. What we got was a master bath that is dark walnut, the second order (for the hall) came in and we were stunned to see that the color was not just off a little but not even in the same ballpark .bath dark brown and hall was light cherry color. We called home legend and we were told that there is no guarantee the color will be the same no matter what, they just cant do this. Did I mention that we ( my buddy and i)have worked in the hardwood floor industry for over 25 years and Home Legend is the only hardwood floor company that cant and wont guarantee their floors . we are battling with them to get all our money back plus labor. I have called 11 hardwood manufacturers and all have seen our pictures and all said it was totally unacceptable and at least 4 said it was our fault for dealing with , their words " the worst flooring company in the united states" I am starting to believe this , nothing but complete morons working their well at least answering the phones. Dont give them a dime , a dirt floor would be better!!!!
