"Please Read Before Purchasing!"
All of these reviews are accurate. Unfortunately, most people like myself make the purchase without doing the homework. We bought our carpet from Decorator Carpets in Hamburg, NY and in less than 2 months a very unusual wear pattern emerged. The store owner came out and agreed that it was flawed and took pictures. Never heard back until I went to the store and he said he'd forgotten all about it. Next, I was told he spoke with a company rep who told him there is a disclaimer which basically absolves them of any issues that may occur. While other carpet companies proclaim their stain resistance and ability to withstand all sorts of problems; Stanton has a disclaimer that they won't be responsible when your carpet starts looking like crap!! I called Stanton and spoke with a Ray Davis who said basically the same thing but I would hear from someone in a day or two. That was two weeks ago. I should also mention that my wife and I are in our 60's, no pets, no grandchildren and no shoes in the house. Other than guests visiting, we have very little foot traffic. By our front door we have a $30, 4X6 area rug from Ollie's which was put down the same time as the Stanton garbage and it still looks new. We're very disappointed in the store where we made the purchase (we've dealt with them for 30 years, but never again) and most definitely with the overpriced piece of garbage sold by Stanton. Only wish I could submit a photo of this rag, I mean rug. This was brought to their attention in mid July and it's now late September, so short of small claims court, I guess we just suck it up and let everyone know of our experience. Buyer beware!

"Stanton carpets: Don't waste your money"
Stanton carpets are lovely to look at. But.... We bought a Stanton Cedara carpet in the "Anywhere Collection"----billed as an indoor/outdoor carpet that was very expensive because the fiber is 100% UV stabilized Royaltron Polypropylene. Indeed, Cedara was said to be so extremely durable that you could install it next to a sunny outdoor swimming pool. We installed Cedara indoors in our motor yacht and within 2 years some of the edges are now moldy and elsewhere the fibers are breaking apart. A yacht dealer at a boat show said he installed Cedara indoors in a new 80 foot motor yacht and had to remove it for the same reason. As Stanton only warrants their carpets for a year, we can now only watch as our expensive investment slowly withers away---a painful experience to be sure.

"Don't waste your money-awful"
Our decorator showed us some lovely Stanton carpet, and we had it installed on stairs and upstairs hallway and in our bedroom and sitting room. We were told it was very durable. However, after only a few months with very little foot traffic since only my husband and myself reside here-the center of the step and patches of the hallway looked discolored and flattened, and in our bedroom, the carpet flattened where we walked and turned. The carpet distributor, along with our decorator, came and checked it out. Although Stanton does not warranty steps, the bedroom , hallway , and sitting room should have been covered. A carpet inspector came to our home and sent his report to Stanton. They said that "flattening" of the carpet is not a defect. This has been a horrible experience and I would like to get the word out that Stanton has an inferior product. Distributors should not stock it and inflict this unnecessary aggravation and waste of money on their customers. Our cheap old carpet looked better after 15 years than this Stanton carpet in less than one year.

"Horrible quality"
We had Stanton wool carpet installed in our new home and the carpet had watermarks all over it. It looked like it was 20 years old. Stanton said it was a "natural feature" of a wool carpet and not considered a manufacture's defect. It was a huge ordeal to get them to deal with us to remedy the situation. They do not stand behind their product and considering how expensive it was, it is not worth it at all. Do not buy Stanton carpet.

"Defective carpet - Watermarks"
I purchased Stanton's Hickory Bluebell in 2013 only to see vertical lines appear just a year later. Stanton only warrantees their product for one year. The line are very visible. Stanton originally stated that they are watermarks and are naturally occurring. After the dealer submitted a claim after finding no moisture or other problems, Stanton sent out an inspector. The inspector said that vacuuming the carpet once a week was aggressive vacuuming and denied the claim. Now on year three, the lines are appearing in multiple areas. I wish that the dealer, Earley's carpet, had told me that Stanton's carpet was subject to defects and only carried a 1 year warrantee. I now see that overwhelmingly Stanton denies claims and it's carpets are subject to so many problems.

"Stanton carpet on stairs"
Had Stanton carpet installed on stairs and runner in hall less than a year ago. It looks like it is 10 yrs old. Called Stanton they spoke to dealer where carpet was purchased and they won't even send an inspector. It has light footstep marks on every step and carved in lines and end of steps. I am so disappointed. I have had many carpets in my lifetime and never had this experience.

"Carpet looks like it has white footprints."
Had carpet installed I wasn't home at the time. When I got home from work my husband said how do you like carpet. He didn't want to tell me how bad it looked. It was a light brown and it looked like it had powered foot marks all over it. So I took out the vacuum and vacuumed it, with 3 different vacuums. It still looks like there is white powder on it. Had the store owner come out and look at it and he didn't think it was right. Stanton came out and denied claim. This company does not stand by its product. This carpet was put on my stairs and hallway $2000.00 and it looks horrible.

"Faded rug rectangular spots"
Great color to rug was told it was the best by local company. Rug just faded without sunlight and very little traffic. Just 2 people in our house. The rug is dutch royal crimson. We paid $6000.00 for a 20' x25' section of rug. Rug only lasted for 3 years. Now rug is fading in rectangular sections and we installed the best padding and water proofing. Local installer placed a claim and is still waiting for a response from Stanton.

"Defective Carpet"
I had Stanton carpet installed on stairs and upstairs hallway. I was told it was very durable. However, after only a few months with very little foot traffic since only my husband and myself reside here - no pets - the center of the step and patches of the hallway looked discolored and flattened. My distributor agreed with me. He took pictures and filed a claim which many months later, Stanton denied ever receiving. The second claim was denied based on the fact that Stanton does not warranty steps. This has been a horrible experience and I would like to get the word out that Stanton has an inferior product. Distributors should not stock it and inflict this unnecessary aggravation and waste of money on their customers.

"Defective carpeting"
This is the second time in less than 12 months that Stanton Carpets has had one of their distributors install defective carpeting. On both installations they had a rug inspector to evaluate the defect. The first inferior product that was installed had to be removed since they only offered 1,079 in settlement or we can have it replaced. We choose to replace it only to find out the carpet we had selected was discontinued. They told us to select another carpet of similar value and they will install again. Guess what? The second carpet that was installed again was defective. We are asking for all of our money back and asking them to remove the carpet. We've really had it up to our necks to include the distributor who is unresponsive.
