"You negative review people are idiots"
I have sold hardwood floors for more than 25 years and I can assure you that Mirage makes the highest-quality hardwood floors on the planet. Pretty much every negative review on here complains about dents, dings, scratches, cupping etc. Guess what folks, even the best hardwood floors dent, ding, and scratch. You drop a lid with a serrated edge and expect it not to leave a mark in the finish? What are you smoking? Afraid to walk on it in high heels? Do you know how many hundreds of pounds of pressure per square inch you inflict on the product with the little 1/2" round cap of a high heel? There is not a species or brand of wood that withstand that without dimpling. If they cup, bow, or gap, that is either from normal expansion and contraction due to atmospheric conditions (excessive or insufficient moisture levels in the product or subfloor) or from poor installation. I just lost a $40,000 sale because of the inane reviews on here from people who have no idea what they speak of. Sounds like you may have been the victim of an overzealous salesperson who overpromised this hardwood as being basically bulletproof. Still, if the product doesn't perform up to the unrealistic expectations that you have the right thing to do would be do a little research from sources that will actually give you the right information before you post incorrect assumptions and outrageous claims that damage the reputation of one of the finest companies out there. Their company's future and the livelihoods of their proud employees depend on it. And yes, the loyal, education sales professionals whose incomes are also affected by such mis-aimed anger. The National Wood Flooring Council Association is one source that comes to mind to set you straight on hardwood floors. You will find the truth there. I know that the internet is an opportunity for the free exchange of ideas, but websites like these, that purport to be in the best interest of consumers, should have a duty to actually be experts in the field being discussed, and to monitor what are valid complaints and what are just people venting about a poor buying decision on their part, in this case buying hardwood when any brand of hardwood was a poor choice for their lifestyles.

"Run....Don't walk away from this product"
We waited months for this particular flooring because I heard the quality was better than what the contractor wanted to install. Noooo....I had real wood floors for 20+ years before moving and remodeling but my slab house wouldn't accommodate real wood like I had in my pier and beam house. If I drop my cell phone on these it will dent! I'm not throwing my cell phone down. I get scared if I walk with heels around my house. I find new dents each week. I would Never recommend these!

"A waste of money"
Unfortunately, I have to agree with a number of the other reviews. If you so much as drop a pen it will leave a dent/mark and the boards look (although they are not) cupped in all light. Even though I got the "shiny" finish the floors always look dull. I live alone, no pets or kids, and always wear only socks or slippers and after 2 years the floor looks like it should be replaced.

"Wish I had chosen a different brand"
I've had my floor down for 2 years now. Went with Classic Maple Sierra 4-1/4". Like other have mentioned this product dents and marks super easy. I know it's wood and yes if I dropped a hammer on it I'd expect damage but when I drop a pen on it I cring. It seems that's all it takes for a mark to appear. Also when looking at it, the reflection of light makes it look as if the boards are cupped. They're not but they sure look that way. I definitely do not recommend this brand.

"Avoid Mirage!"
Built 5800 sf home jersey shore. Was convinced to Go with the Mercedes of floors (mirage) because hardwood would cup because of humidity from Water. 3 floors of flooring, 50,000 dollars. After One month floors are ruined, drop your phone on Floor dents. Dog nail marks everywhere, I mean everywhere, and she gets groomed once month so that's not it. I call mirage they don't care, told Me wood dents. Total B.S. save your money do not get mirage.

Review:
"This floor is holding up extremely well."
We incurred a huge amount of mold and mildew plus physical damage to our home on Long Beach Island, NJ, during Hurricane Sandy. We sure learned what a fraud National Flood Insurance is. In any event, we decided not to replace the moldy carpet with more carpet and decided to use an engineered hardwood floor. The floor in our living room, dining room and game area on our top floor was installed in late 2014. We have a Labrador Retriever who does not always have her nails cut as often as they should be cut. She loves running around playing with her toys while sliding around on the floor. She is now 12 and has a little trouble getting up from lying on the hardwood floor and I am thinking of inventing sneakers for dogs to give her some traction. There is no scratch evidence of our dog's presence except for her dog hair that she leaves all over the house anyway. However, there is absolutely no evidence that the floor has been scratched. I made a scratch by dragging a chair with a broken glide where the protruding nail from the broken glide scraped the finish off. However, our excellent installer suggested a touch up product and we challenge anyone to find the spot. We are selling our other home and will be moving to a Continuing Care facility shortly and we plan to use this same Mirage product albeit in a different wood and color. This floor was a good purchase, it was properly installed and is holding up very well. We took delivery of the flooring several months before it was actually installed on teh advice of our installer so the material had plenty of time to become acclimated. We have gone through two additional Hurricanes since this floor was installed and the high humidity during power outages has made no swelling or shrinking movement to our floor.

"Mirage the Worst Flooring Ever!"
We installed the solid engineered maple flooring and from day one we had issues with scratches and dents, example I dropped the lid of a pickle jar onto the floor and it actually left an imprint of the serrated egde of the top to the jar, in my floor! Seriously we were flabbergasted! The floors look like S#&T and they've only been down 1 1/2 years! We have no children and a 5lb dog so for the floors to look this crappy already says a lot. I would not recommend buying Mirage flooring period the absolute worst floors! Wish now we had just kept our old oak floors! They actually look better and they were 12 years old! Do not buy Mirage! You will regret it!

"Horrible condition after 2 years"
These are the worst floors ever! Do not purchase! We put down the Yellow Birch in four rooms two years ago. From the first day we had them down they started scratching. Everyroom room has such bad scratches that we put down area rugs. Now we have discoloration of every floor that has a rug down. I spoke with a Mirage rep about both issues and was basically told I am SOL. All floors scratch and oxidize. It turns my stomach everytime I look at these floors. We rebuilt our house after Hurricane Sandy and now two years later I need new floors again. We bought them for their reputation, but these floors have the worst durability I have ever seen in a hardwood floor. I wish I would have read some reviews before we purchased. Stay away!

"Don't waste your money!"
This is the worst flooring I have ever seen to keep looking good. Hours of scrubbing by hand (over 1600 sq ft) and still looks like garbage. Company doesn't send anyone to see if there is an issue with finish just sends instructions on how to clean Waste of over $30,000. Save yourself the time and money and don't buy this product
