"I might as well have installed the oak is so soft"
Decided on the Mirage engineered floor because it was touted to be the best, the most expensive part of my renovation. It had a good look ((Red Oak Sonora #19884) but has turned out to be a disaster. The wood is so soft if you drop a cell phone with a soft cover it leaves a dent anything heavier or with an edge you have a gouge. I have a regular older oak floor on the second floor you can drop a hammer on it and it isn't dented. When I called them they basically said don't drop anything on it. Not their problem. From the installer to the end product it is a nightmare. The only thing positive I can say about this floor is that it looks good as long as you don't use it.

"Dents easily"
I spent a lot of money on this flooring after being told by the dealer and installer that it was the best. It is very soft wood. Drop anything on it and it leaves a big dent in the wood. It looked beautiful when first installed but after three months I am an unhappy customer

"One of my larger financial regrets"
I have lived in old homes with wood flooring from the 1940's that continued to be pristine. A few years in and my mirage floors look horrible. :(

Review:
"Very poor quality wood"
I wish I read some reviews before spending $10,000 on this wood floor. I shopped around at 4 different stores and every salesman said Mirage made the best floors. It certainly looks beautiful in the showroom. They have very fancy catalogs and an impressive web site. But don't be fooled. It's all marketing hype. The product scratches and dents easily. I bought an ottoman to put in front of my sofa and the wheels leave dents in the wood every time you move it. Mirage is using a soft wood and that is the problem. They claim it's a hard wood maple but it's terrible. I bought another much less expensive brand for another part of the house and it has zero dents and scratches. That's enough proof for me. Also, terrible customer service. They blew me off saying I should be more careful moving things on the floor. Unfortunately had to buy area rugs to cover damages.

"Love this brand!"
I had wood floor before before, and had to changed it 2 years after the installation because there were scratches everywhere. I asked for the best quality, and this is what I have! I have 2 children and one dog, and the floor is still impeccable after 4 years. I strongly recommend.

"Scratches and dings easily"
Mirage touts their product is high quality. While it may be, but their product is definately not manufactured to be resistant to use. I guess they expect you to install it and just look at it. We walk on our floor with just bare feet, no children, no pets and scratches and dings are everywhere. I guess you don't get what you pay for as expensive as this floor is.

"Worst hardwood Ever"
Just bought our floors last year. It was the biggest mistake ever. I am a very clean person with no pets and yes 2 girls. We are not hard on our stuff what so ever but I am ready to rip up these floors. If you drop anything easily to damage. We have so many marks now I hate it. You wash it with there cleaner and there are always smudges. When I bought the floors the sales person said how beautiful it is best quality floors. They are beautiful if you don't walk on them quality sucks. So now at the end of my rant don't buy there floors don't even buy there cleaner. Go somewhere else!

"Hardwood Floor"
We had maple hardwood flooring by Mirage put in 2 years ago. We chose it for its natural beauty and its richness that we could enjoy in our home. We waited for our adult kids to move out and when we no longer had pets since we knew that unlike many floor options, in order to maintain a long lasting elegant hardwood floor, we would have to use care as outlined in the manufacturers suggestions. We don't wear shoes in our home nor do we allow visitors to wear them, felt pads are under all furniture, we monitor humidity levels with a hygrometer and adjust our central humidifier accordingly, we generally eat and drink (not always) in our kitchen, we vacuum the floor with a soft and gentle attachment. Of course every floor has some wear and we're not perfect by any means. If you're not willing to put in a conscientious effort then maybe hardwood is not for you, but if you love the beauty of natural wood floors and you're committed to caring for them then by all means hardwood is a great choice and we absolutely love them.

"I Love my Mirage Floor"
Mirage has won more quality awards than any other brand all over North America. My floor is amazing, we are not kind to it and it continues to perform above expectations. We installed it two years ago. We have large open windows and we have had no fading of the finish. Only one minor dent that was caused by dropping my laptop on its corner edge. Our cell phones and converters are dropped regularly and there are no dents. Our two cats run wild playing and no scratches. I have seen friends floors who did not purchase Mirage and they have far more damage on the finish. I would highly recommend this brand and floor. And it is easy to clean, mostly I vacuum it and once a month use the cleaner.
