"Not pet friendly"
I work for an animal rescue and thought vinyl plank flooring would be ideal for the puppy room. I got a light gray wood grain type of plank. The puppy accidents sink into the grainy texture and is impossible to clean up. Also stains easily and retains odors. Very expensive and Iím going to have to replace the whole thing.

"Shaw does not honor their warranty"
We had two brands of flooring installed at the same time. the other brand we had no problems with what so ever, Shaw is cracking and peeling. Shaw sent out an inspector and claimed it was "improperly installed" (though we had the same installers as the other brand on the same day) When we disputed their claim, they simply ignored our email. Shaw is junk! They had a class action lawsuit October 2013 against them for this very thing.

"Vinyl Flooring Nightmare"
We purchased Shaw Charleston Vinyl planking. We chose to have it professionally installed. It was a nightmare! The tongue and groove are very small and it has to lock in "just so". If it was not locked in and you pushed down to lock in the plank, others that were loose would pop up and you would have to do it again. Very time consuming and stressful. The man that laid our flooring is very experienced with all types of flooring. He has been in the business for years, he said he would never lay this again. So how in the world would a person like me with no skill at all ever be able to do this? The end product is really nice, but it was a beast to lay. I will never buy a product like this again.

"I Hate my New Flooring"
I can't believe my new laminate flooring looks worse than my 30 year old carpet! My floor looks like the USA Olympic Hockey team practiced on it. It looks nothing like the display swatch or the online pictures. I guess if I didn't let any light in my place I could hide all the defects. I wish I could upload a picture to show you how bad it actually is. Shaw Company states they do not have any customer satisfaction which I can see as there product is substandard. I work hard for my money, which I just threw away. I work in the medical business and if I used this product the patient would be dead

"Pure Crap!"
I wish there was a minus rating. This stuff is crap! It's supposed to have a 30 year warranty, but it started coming apart in six months. I've written to Shaw three times with no response. Avoid this flooring! Now I have to tear it all up and replace it and I'm not happy about it.

"Scratches, dents, scuffs & gouges"
The 25 year warranty might make you think this flooring is durable but it is not. It scratches so easily that you can't even finish installing it before it starts looking bad. Sure, they might send you a replacement piece but contrary to their statement that damaged pieces are "easily replaceable", the interlocks do no allow replacement without pulling up half of the room or more. Think plastic feet on your furniture will protect it? Think again - my recliner has plastic feet but apparently this flooring is a softer plastic and is scuffed by the plastic feet. Any piece of furniture that stays in the same place very long will result in a dent. Roll your refrigerator out for 20 minutes to clean behind it and you'll find a dent in the middle of the floor when you push it back in. Drop anything on it that does not have rounded corners and it will gouge a hole in the surface. Waterproof? No, unless you caulk the perimeter of the room water will seep under it and grow mold. But you can't caulk it because you will loose the ability for it to expand and contract. The Franklin History color is a mistake too - every little piece of dirt and lint shows up like a neon sign. You have to sweep or vacuum your floor DAILY to keep your house from looking like a ghetto. Manufacturing quality? Forget it - many of the pieces have broken interlock tabs causing you to have to use it for an end piece - IF you catch it before you install it. The back of almost every piece comes with pieces of manufacturing scrap stuck to it. If you don't scrape them off before installing it, they show up as pimples on the surface. Don't have a perfectly flat subfloor? You'll know it a day after your floor is installed - it settles down onto the surface of your subfloor and shows every lump, dip, and level change. Prepare to be disappointed and angry!

"Terrible"
Had laminate flooring professionally installed to replace my laminate floor that was destroyed by a broken water pipe. within 6 months edges are curling! I did not get it too wet. Shaw will not honor their warranty, neither will my installer. The flooring is of very poor quality and I have no choice but to replace it at my own expense. Do not buy Shaw laminate flooring

"Expensive junk"
I had this installed in new construction home as I wanted something durable that looked good. I have a big dog who lives indoors. Just moving in and sliding an ottoman with plastic capped feet and a plastic container from Walmart put big deep scratches into the flooring. These were part of normal moving activities. My builder told me another client in VA has the same issue. Shaw finally agreed to have an independent inspector look at hers, and they may have to do the same with mine. In the meantime, my builder (David James Custom Homes) has pulled all of the samples from their showroom floors.
