"Told by Supplier it was not a first grade product"
We had an issue. A friend had told us to retain the sample, which we did. We came home after the carpet was laid, compared the sample to what was on the floor - different - not just a slightly different shade, but different colour tones altogether. What ensued has been a nine month process, I am guessing largely held up by our local supplier (Carpet Court NZ) who have had a lengthy 'claims process' and told us that it was no longer a first grade carpet and they would as such they not honour any warranty on it... it has been ripped up and we have got a full refund. My advice - don't go near it. Or if you do choose it, keep the sample - no one seemed that surprised that they weren't a match. Its a synthetic carpet for goodness sake - there should be very little variance.

"Worst carpet we have ever had"
Our first and only Mohawk carpeting was suppose to be one of the best they sold, very resistant to staining and wearing. We only kept this carpet for 2 years and after trying for 3 months to get a refund towards another type of carpet jus t gave up after they kept telling us we did not clean it correctly/vacumn it correctly etc. We have had carpeting all our lives and I have even sold carpeting for. Living. Their carpet was the worst at staining/soiling/and wearing of any I had had in our home. I have always cleaned my own carpets with a carpet cleaner 2 times a ye ar and this carpet did not clean well at all. We replaced it with another brand and it has worn very well and is still looking great. Buyers be wear this company will not. Help you if you have a bad carpet that needs to be replaced! and it does not stand up to everyday wear as others do!

"They don't stand behind their warranty"
They said the carpet wasn't powerstretched because their inspector couldn't find spike marks in the carpet so I went out to the house and, in front of the home owner, I turned back the carpet and videoed the whole thing showing the spike marks to the homeowner. Obviously the inspector didn't have a clue what he was looking for or where to find them. Mohawk still claims it was not powerstretched because the tackstrip holes aren't elonggated enough. What is a person suppose to do, thrash the carpet with the powerstretcher when installing it? I'm sure the customer would really apreciate that.

"No durability!"
Now I understand what is causing all this negativity. In a small area, under a recliner, my carpets nap was worn down over 50% within 6 months. I expect carpet to wear evenly everywhere especially carpet that is not walked on. Once noticed, I complained to my carpet retailer. About a week later an independent inspector reviewed the area. Mohawk ended up authorizing my claim. Good news, bad news - My retailer only carries Mohawk. Since I'll have to stay with Mohawk and If this is representative of Mohawk's wearability, I guess I will have to go through this replacement multiple times while I own this house....yuck.

"Just install"
We just installed Mohawks Aladdin carpet and hate it, looks awful. Could not tell from sample, but shows every footprint. My old carpet now at the dump looked nicer than this. No way that you can vacuum it to look better, just marks it more. Mohawk told my local carpet dealer in Peace Dale RI, there was nothing they could do for me. Guess Shaws Carpets want happy customers but Mohawk doesn't care! Don't buy this. Wish I could rip it out.

"Don't buy"
It is amazing to me with so many negative reviews of this carpet that Mohawk is still stiffing customers with this horrible carpet. What good is stain resistance, if the new carpet looks 15 years old. Tere should be legal recourse.

"Don't Buy Carpet From Mohawk"
The Mohawk Carpet is garbage. Never will I buy it again. We moved into a new townhome and selected the carpet from the distributor it's a level 2 Stone Lion. Shortly after we moved in within weeks the carpet started failing. It is only me and my husband in a non-smoking home.I have complained no one helped me. Mohawk sent out a carpet expert who was a bunch of nonsense of course he was on their side because they paid for him. A total rip off. I will never buy this carpet again. Run and don't look back if you are considering this. Choose another carpet brand.

"An educated understanding of carpet"
I think it's important to really read what these reviews are saying, I've noticed that the bad reviews are mostly due to either not having the retailer become the consumer's advocate or based on old information that has now become unreliable because of industry changes. It's true that at one time, any poly carpet was not good, I would tell people to run from it unless it was a loop pile (or berber type) carpet because of no memory so it would matt and not bounce back like nylon. However, smart strand is triexta fiber, the first fiber to receive a new name since nylon in the 40's when parachutes were invented. The reason it is called triexta is because of an added molecule that gives the fiber a tremendous amount of strength and bounce-back. I have installed, sold, and represented carpet of all types for 30 years. My confidence in smart strand is very high, I believe it is now the best fiber on the market.

"Backing coming apart strands coming out should put together lawsuit"
Got really thick mohawk carpet for my living room was really beautiful when I first got it. Not even a few months later strand are coming out when we vacuum and the backing is coming apart. This is what the installer determined. He took pictures and sent them to Lowes, which I had to call several times and finally they sent a claim to the manufacturer and its been about a month and nothing resolved yet. I purchased from Lowes because they used to stand behind their products but never again. Want to get enough unsatisfied people together for a lawsuit

Review:
"Horrible carpet"
We purchased about 400 s/f of this carpet three years ago for about $6.00 s/f and already have to replace all of it. It is the worst carpet we have ever had the displeasure of owning. We are in our seventies and have owned 11 homes in our lifetime. This carpet is in a home that we only live in 6 months of the year, there are only two of us and we do not wear shoes in the house. It has looked like a rag in the high traffic areas since the first month. We filed many complaints with Mohawk to no avail,. We had to purchase a special vacuum to use on it and we followed the mfg. recommendation and had it cleaned at 18 months following the special cleaning instructions for this carpet. The company said the carpet was junk and was going to let the selling store know about it. It is now in such bad condition that we can no longer stand to have it in our home and are replacing it.
